Happy almost Easter, dolls!
I'm super excited to let ya'll know that I'm finally moving my business to another space! Although I wish I could move right now, I have a lease contract which ends in 4 or 5 months (still trying to get an actual date since the lease started late). So, as long as a space is still available at the location I like (which it should be), I'll be moving in August (maybe even July to get things set up) and I cannot wait! While I love all that I've done at this current space, I just don't get as much customers as I did when I was around the corner. Plus, people keep coming in thinking I'm the beauty school since they have a sign near mine and the other tenants' signs. My storefront sign is HUGE, but random people still come in asking about their appointment at the beauty school. With as many times as I've directed their customers to go around the corner, I should be getting a check! Moving on...
Since I'm kind of doing a reset on my business I also decided to change the name of my boutique. While the official business name will remain, the boutique will be run under an assumed name. It only cost me $25 to do and if I'd known that before I reopened, I would've changed it because I've also had a lot of people come by or call asking if I sell vanities. It can get a bit annoying, but I understand why they would ask because of the boutique's name and my boutique has a pretty amazing wall vanity in the front and two in the studio. And since I don't need all of the space I currently have, I'm moving to a smaller space and will only be selling 4 to 5 makeup brands, a few lash, makeup brush, and accessory brands so I can focus more on the makeup side. Since I've decided to give myself 4 to 6 years to fully transition from employee to business owner, I've got to really work on my makeup clientele.
I currently have 2 really consistent clients. One is a model, socialite, business woman and NBA wife. Just by me doing her makeup, I have a few new followers and views on my boutique and personal IG page. My other client is a school administrator and she has done a lot for the education community in San Antonio. Both ladies are great to work with and I hope to get more clients like them so I can eventually do makeup full-time!
Well ya'll, that's it for now. My next post will probably be info about the new location and the name will be available soon. I actually have a contest going for who can guess the name out of six I listed. Follow the IG (still @makeupvanitypro for now), Face Book Page, and Twitter (if you still tweet). And have a great Easter weekend!
