Hey dolls! It's been a minute since the last post but I have been working my butt off with multi-tasking. I've been manager, accountant, supervisor since MVP's re-opening and still working full-time. Along with all of that, I had football mom duties from August till last month. Which I am happy to say has ended although I wanted my son and his team to get further in play-offs. But it is nice to be able to re-focus on my boutique.
So on to updates about the boutique. Unfortunately, the grand re-opening did not do as well as the one I did in 2016...which is CRAZY. I actually hired TWO marketing companies to get MVP's name out for me and they both were a FAIL. So I told myself that once my son's football season was over, I would re-focus on marketing on my own. And that's what I am doing. Since business actually decreased after the grand re-opening, I was about to cut my loyal employee Sean loose. But God had a better plan for him and found him another job before that could happen. So now, he is one of my artists as needed and will help with future events since they are on the weekends.
In the meantime, I am back to a one-woman shop except for the weekends when one of the other artists (Treva or Sean) have a client. Treva, Sean, and I are available for makeup services by appointment on Saturdays. Treva and I are also available during the week depending on the day and time. Most recently, I did makeup for Gintare Songaile. She is the wife of Assistant Coach Darius Songaila (yes, their last names are spelled a little differently...it's a cultural thing). He is a former basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs (yes, my team!) and now an assistant coach, which is so cool! Gintare, who is also a model, marketing director from Lithuania, and mom of three beautiful boys, was very sweet and funny. My goal is to keep getting high-profile clients like Gintare, but still making myself available and affordable for everyone else. But I have my goals set much higher and just ask for you, my customers, clients, followers to spread the word about MVP. Although doing makeup and owning my makeup boutique is not my "bread and butter" right now, I would like it to be a continuously growing addition to my entrepreneurial career. One of the ways I thought of helping make that happen a little quicker is to work on my marketing the old-school way (handing out flyers, passing out business cards, attending events that I can network at, become a vendor for events that may need makeup/skin care products, sponsoring my makeup services, cross-promote with other businesses, and start teaching makeup classes).
That brings me to my announcement. MVP will have a Mardi Gras themed party on Saturday, March 2nd from 2-8PM. I will be introducing a few new products from Moira Cosmetics, Crown Brush, and a few other brands. So come out for music, light snacks, drinks, and shopping! I ask YOU once again, my customers, makeup clients, friends, family, and followers to help get the word out about MVP so I can grow my boutique and help our community grow.
